Please join ChamberRVA and our expert from the Richmond Field Office of the FBI on Tuesday, June 21 from 9:00 - 10:00 am EST. Special Agent Melvin Gonzalez from the Richmond Field Office of the FBI will be navigating the topic of human trafficking.
Special Agent Melvin Gonzalez has been a special agent for the FBI since 2005, when he was assigned to the Richmond Division where he worked Civil Right matters to include adult human trafficking. In 2009, Special Agent Gonzalez was assigned to the San Juan FBI Division, where he worked drug trafficking, gangs, violent crimes, and public corruption matters.
Special Agent Gonzalez relocated back to Richmond in 2015 and was assigned to the Violent Crimes Against Children (VCAC) program. In 2018, he did an 18-month supervisory assignment to FBI HQ, Crimes Against Children and Human Trafficking Unit where he was responsible for the West Coast Region. Special Agent Gonzalez now coordinates the Richmond Regional Human Trafficking Task Force and specializes in Human Trafficking investigations to include Forced Labor, Sex Trafficking and Domestic Servitude.
