Placemaking, Heritage and Restoration: Farm to Table Cooking Demo from the East End of RVA
Featuring Church Hill Activity and Tutoring's (CHAT) Legacy Farm
Looking for a fun Thursday night activity? Date night plans? Join HYPE as we celebrate CHAT's launch of their Legacy Farm cookbook by cooking along with us!
Legacy Farm is an urban farm located in the heart of Church Hill in Richmond's East End. Legacy Farm began as an urban farming project through Church Hill Activities & Tutoring (CHAT)’s Workforce Development Program. Since 2012, the farm has provided opportunities for teens and young adults from Richmond’s East End to develop skills and job experience through crop cultivation and preparation of fresh produce and artisanal food products.
The cookbook is a collection of recipes using ingredients planted, grown, and harvested by Black and Brown youth living in Richmond's East End. Hear the stories, cook the food and sample the products locally grown and sourced right here in Richmond.
All registrants will receive a Recipe Card ahead of time to cook along with us!
HYPE Subscribers will receive a discount code to use at CHAT's website (purchase a Legacy Farm cookbook, handmade apron, or hand carved cutting board!) AND be entered into a prize pack giveaway featuring handmade items from CHAT!
There is still time to join HYPE to receive these and many more perks! Contact Rachel Rodney to learn more.
