Richard Coughlan has served for more than 20 years on the management faculty of the University of Richmond, where he teaches courses on negotiations, ethics and decision-making to audiences ranging from undergraduates to chief executives. He is also a keynote speaker, facilitator and strategic advisor for corporate and non-profit clients across the mid-Atlantic region.
Richard arrived at Richmond after completing both an MBA and a Ph.D. in judgment and decision making at the University of Arizona. Prior to graduate school, he spent nearly five years in the hotel industry, culminating with a position on the management team at The Pebble Beach Resorts in California.
Coughlan currently serves on the board of directors at Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia and is a past president of Association for Corporate Growth-Richmond. He also hosts a pair of interview series: C-Suite Conversations, featuring monthly on-stage interviews with senior executives in front of live audiences, and Dialogue on Decision Making, a weekly podcast with guests from a variety of industries.
