Governing 804 2016
To govern effectively, one must cultivate great leadership skills. To be a great leader one must be able to navigate entrenched mindsets of others, steer through difficult “right versus wrong” dilemmas while balancing one’s own personal beliefs, and make difficult decisions that impact the lives of others. In short, to cultivate the skills necessary to effectively govern requires a complex set of interpersonal and professional skills. Governing 804 offers insights into leaders who exemplifies these skill sets.
This short program is designed to engage local leaders who currently hold office in our region and leaders who one day aspire to. In addition to networking and a presentation on how to apply values based leadership in the political arena attendees will hear from leaders who exemplify these leadership skills and who have experience in state and local government.
