The New GOP Tax Bill Ushers in Monumental Changes - What Do You Need To Know?

  • Discussion on the new tax act recently signed into federal law,
  • How this comprehensive tax reform will change the tax landscape for businesses and individuals,
  • An overview of the new provisions impacting individuals, small - large businesses, non-profits, trusts and estates,
  • General planning strategies and considerations in navigating these changes to tax law.

 

Bill Young, CPA, CGMA, is a partner at Mitchell Wiggins, where he served as the Firm’s managing partner for 8 years.   He has over 45 years of experience serving automotive dealerships, community banks and a variety of closely held primarily family-owned businesses.  He also specializes in estate planning and estate administration and is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Richmond, Virginia. Bill is regular speaker for the Virginia Society of CPAs. He currently serves on the Boards of three private foundations and a community organization.  Bill is a graduate of the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce.


John C. "Dean" Williams, Tax Director and responsible for providing firm-wide leadership of the tax department including tax compliance, tax strategy, and tax planning for individuals and businesses. Throughout his career, Dean has provided comprehensive tax and cash flow planning for high net worth individuals and families. In addition to individual and business tax matters, Dean has extensive experience with estate, trust, and gift tax returns. Dean is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Richmond, Virginia and the Private Business Study Group of Richmond.  Dean earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Washington & Lee University.  Dean holds a Masters of Accounting degree from the University of Virginia.
